ACTRA is ready to bargain a new Independent Production Agreement (IPA) later this year. With so many major challenges facing our industry, negotiations with the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA) and the Association Québécoise de la Production Médiatique (AQPM) are especially critical this time around.

The parties agreed to exchange bargaining proposals in advance, having done so on October 10, 2024. The extra time provides the parties with the opportunity to reflect on each other’s proposals in advance of formal negotiations, which will take place in Montreal and Toronto later in 2024.

Key IPA bargaining dates:

October 10, 2024: Exchange of proposals between parties.

November 4 to 16, 2024: Bargaining commences in Montreal, QC.

December 9 to 14, 2024: Bargaining continues in Toronto, ON.
